For landlords and housing associations
Solar and batteries for rented homes. Fully funded.
We fund, fit and look after solar panels and a battery on your rented homes. No cost to you, lower bills for your tenants, managed and monitored for 25 years.
For landlords
We handle everything, start to finish
Clean power on your rooftops without touching your capital budget. Each home gets about 4.2kW of solar, a home battery of about 10kWh, and smart monitoring.
We fund it
Every panel, battery and install is paid for by private investment.
We survey every home
Rooftops, electrics and battery locations checked before anything is fitted.
We install it
MCS-certified installers, usually in one or two days per home.
We talk to tenants
Clear information, booked visits, and help with any questions.
We bill and support
Tenants deal with us for their solar power, not you.
We monitor every system
Performance watched remotely, faults caught early.
We maintain it
Repairs, replacements and insurance for 25 years.
We report to you
Installs, generation, tenant savings and carbon saved.
Why now: EPC C by 2030
Private rented homes must reach EPC C by 2030, and social homes are expected to follow. Solar and batteries help improve ratings without spending your capital budget.
All we need from you
Access to your rooftops, your property data and a named contact. Grant funding for insulation and heating can work alongside the programme.

Questions
Common questions
What does it cost a landlord?
Nothing. The equipment, installation, maintenance, insurance and removal are all paid for by the programme.
What if a tenant moves out?
The system stays. The next tenant can choose to buy the solar power on the same terms.
What about Right to Buy or a sale?
The roof licence sets out transfer or removal options, agreed with you before any installs.
Is it on our balance sheet?
The equipment is owned by Nationwide Power Solutions, not by you. Your auditors should confirm the accounting treatment for your organisation.
Do we need to run a tender?
As there is no payment from you, a full tender may not be needed. Your procurement team should confirm the right route, and we will give them whatever they need.
What happens after 25 years?
You can extend the agreement, take the system over, or we remove it and make good.
I’m a tenant. Do I have to take part?
No. Taking part is your choice and has no effect on your tenancy. You can stop at any time with no exit fee, and you keep your own electricity supplier.
I’m a tenant. How do I report a fault?
Call 0151 332 8000. For anything unsafe, such as smoke or a burning smell from the battery, call 999 first.
